FNS Work in Progress (WiP) Seminar Series

Welcome to the FNS Work in Progress Seminar Series.
The next session in our Work in Progress Seminar Series will be held on Monday, May 2nd, at 18.00 GMT (10.00 Pacific Time; 13:00 EST; 15:00 BRT; 19.00 CET; and 05:00 AEDT).

It will feature discussion of a recent essay by Dr. Lorenzo Serini, titled "Friedrich Nietzsche: Cheerful Thinker and Writer".

The format of the session requires that participants read the paper in advance and come with questions and comments for Dr. Serini. The paper will be circulated a week ahead of the talk (April 25th). The number of participants will be limited, so please register your interest soon, using the link below.

Invitation to Submit Work in Progress

FNS invites members to submit any suitable work in progress that they would like to present at our Work in Progress (WiP) workshop series. 'Work in progress' means, first, that submitted papers should not already be published. In this way our WiP sessions will provide an invaluable venue for making improvements to material 'in progress.' Secondly, submitted papers should be approaching a point where they could reasonably be submitted to a journal for consideration.

Please email all submissions to [email protected]. Submissions should be prepared for blind review and be the standard length of a journal article, preferably no more than 10,000 words. Papers will be evaluated by a subcommittee of the FNS executive board for quality. If the referees think the paper merits something approximating a 'revise and resubmit' direction for a journal such as the Journal of Nietzsche Studies, the author will be invited to present the paper. If not, referees will ask that further work be done on the paper.

Invitations of accepted papers will be on a first come, first served basis. We will work with authors to schedule WiP sessions in a timely fashion. We plan to hold up to one workshop session per month. Please note that referees may give feedback on papers, but authors should not expect such feedback, due to the work this involves.

To register to attend WiP seminars, please fill out the form below. Note that you must register for each individual session you attend.
