Rebecca Bamford is Reader in Philosophy at Queen's University Belfast. Her research interests focus on the history of 19th century philosophy and post-Kantian European philosophy, and especially on Friedrich Nietzsche. She has published extensively in 19th century European philosophy, primarily on Nietzsche's philosophy. Her recent research focus has been on Nietzsche's free spirit writings, and she has published two books addressing this theme: Nietzsche’s Dawn: Philosophy, Ethics, and the Passion of Knowledge (co-authored with Keith Ansell-Pearson) and Nietzsche’s Free Spirit Philosophy. She also serves as a member of the editorial board of Nietzsche-Studien. Her research in ethics focuses on contemporary applied issues in medicine, technology, and environment, and she is developing further research on the philosophy of disability.
