Rebecca Bamford is is senior lecturer in philosophy at Queen's University, Belfast. Her research and teaching interests focus on problems that arise at the intersection of ethics, the political, aesthetics, medicine, technology, and the sciences. She has published extensively in 19th century European philosophy, primarily on the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche and with an extended recent focus on Nietzsche's free spirit writings. Two books have already been published from this research focus, Nietzsche’s Dawn: Philosophy, Ethics, and the Passion of Knowledge (co-authored with Keith Ansell-Pearson) and Nietzsche’s Free Spirit Philosophy, and three more (on Nietzsche's experimentalism, Nietzsche and identity politics, and on Nietzsche's Beyond Good and Evil) are in progress. Her research in ethics is concerned especially with contemporary bioethical issues, African ethics, and technology ethics.
