Matthew Meyer is Associate Professor of Philosophy at The University of Scranton. He is the author of two monographs on Nietzsche: Reading Nietzsche Through the Ancients: An Analysis of Becoming, Perspectivism, and the Principle of Non-Contradiction (De Gruyter, 2014) and Nietzsche’s Free Spirit Works: A Dialectical Reading (Cambridge University Press, 2019). He has also co-edited, with Paul Loeb, Nietzsche’s Metaphilosophy: The Nature, Method, and Aims of Philosophy (Cambridge University Press, 2019), and he has written numerous articles, chapter contributions, and reviews on Nietzsche. Beyond Nietzsche studies, he has longstanding interests in ancient philosophy, political philosophy, and the philosophy of humor, laughter, and comedy.
