Accommodation in Lausanne

There are plenty of options for hotels in Lausanne. We recommend you stay in the city centre close to a metro station as the university can be easily reached with the M1 line.

Some rooms have been prebooked from 13th to 16th September at the Hotel Agora Swiss Night by Fassbind 4* that is close to the railway station. Availability is on a first come first serve basis and rates are 157CHF/night for a single room and 187CHF/night for a double room (plus city tax 3.50 CHF/person/night). Dates are flexible, but availability needs to be confirmed. If you wish to stay there, contact the local organiser ([email protected]) as soon as possible and before June 30th and indicate your dates of arrival and departure as well as the type of room (single/double).
Other suggested hotels close to metro station Vigie:

  • Moxy Lausanne City 3*
  • Hotel ibis Lausanne Centre 2*

Travel in Lausanne

The nearest airport is Geneva. There are regular trains running from Geneva-Airport to Lausanne (travel time around 50 minutes). The best way to travel within Lausanne is by using public transportation (if you are staying in a hotel, they will give you a travel pass for the duration of your stay).

The University is outside of the city centre and the easiest way to reach it is by taking the metro M1 to the “UNIL-Chamberonne” station.
