This year's conference of the Friedrich Nietzsche Society addresses the question of Nietzsche's relation to the emergence of psychoanalysis. Three main areas will be explored: Nietzsche's own understanding of psychology and its overlap with philosophy, physiology and biology; his relation to previous psychological traditions and to other psychologies of his time; and his influence on the development of psychology and psychoanalysis since the turn of the century.
